Actions & Stuff Settings and Texture Styles

Current Actions & Stuff documentation describes three texture-style options: Full Experience, Vanilla Experience, and Custom Experience. For full setup and resource guides, visit Action and Stuff.

These settings let you decide how much of the Actions & Stuff visual style you want to combine with its animations and 3D content.

They are more useful than an invented “low/medium/high graphics” system because they change the pack’s presentation rather than acting as a normal Minecraft performance slider.

Full Experience

Full Experience is the complete Actions & Stuff visual presentation.

Oreville describes it as including the pack’s broader combination of animations, textures, 3D items, 3D armour, particles, sounds, and other visual details.

Choose this when you want the full Actions & Stuff look rather than preserving Minecraft’s normal texture style.

Vanilla Experience

Vanilla Experience keeps the Actions & Stuff animation and 3D-item side while using a more traditional Minecraft texture appearance.

This option is useful when you like the animation work but want the world to remain visually closer to vanilla Minecraft.

It should not be described as a “low graphics” mode. Its purpose is visual style, not simply performance reduction.

Custom Experience

For full details on using Custom Experience alongside another creator’s pack, read our dedicated Actions & Stuff With Other Texture Packs guide → and check out Vibrant Visuals compatibility →.

Custom Experience is intended for players who want the Actions & Stuff animations and 3D content while using another creator’s texture pack.

When you use this setup, Oreville recommends placing your custom texture pack above Actions & Stuff in the pack order so the other texture pack can take visual priority where intended.

This does not guarantee compatibility with every third-party texture pack, but it is the creator-documented route for combining custom textures with Actions & Stuff.

How to switch the texture style

Oreville’s current process is:

  1. open the edit screen for a world where Actions & Stuff is applied;
  2. open Resource Packs;
  3. select the Actions & Stuff texture pack;
  4. open its settings control;
  5. adjust the subpack selector to the texture style you want.

The exact label shown by Minecraft may not always display the friendly style name directly. Oreville notes that Marketplace subpack naming has limitations, so use the pack’s documented selector/order rather than assuming the visible slider text will always say “Full Experience,” “Vanilla Experience” or “Custom Experience.”

Are these settings available in every old Actions & Stuff version?

Do not assume that the current settings interface is identical in every historical release.

Actions & Stuff has changed significantly over time. The v1.10 update, for example, expanded pack customization and optional 3D-tool behavior, while later versions continued changing the product.

If you are using an archived file, follow the options actually provided by that release.

What about Expressions?

Expressions are related to Actions & Stuff, but they are not simply another texture-style selector.

Oreville’s Expressions system uses compatible skins that can support facial animation such as blinking, eye movement, and animated eyebrows.

A normal Minecraft skin is not automatically an Expressions skin; the skin needs the appropriate setup.

At our September 2026 review, Oreville’s current Expressions documentation also says the custom Expressions workflow is not available on console in the same way because consoles do not provide the normal custom-skin upload path.

That limitation may change in the future and should be rechecked if Oreville updates the system.

Will changing texture style fix lag?

Not necessarily.

Full, Vanilla and Custom Experience are primarily presentation choices.

If your problem is low frame rate or stuttering, use the dedicated Actions & Stuff lag and FPS guide rather than treating texture-style selection as a guaranteed performance fix.

Which style should you choose?

Choose based on the experience you want:

If you want…Use

Actions & Stuff animations with a more vanilla texture lookVanilla Experience
Actions & Stuff alongside another texture packCustom Experience

There is no universally “best” setting. The right option depends on how you want Minecraft to look and which other packs you use.
