Actions & Stuff APK vs MCPACK

An APK and an MCPACK are not two versions of the same file.
They do different jobs.
For Actions & Stuff, the important distinction is simple:
Actions & Stuff is Minecraft Bedrock content. A .mcpack is a Bedrock content-package format. An .apk is an Android application package.
That means Actions & Stuff itself should not be described as an Android app merely because users search for phrases such as “Actions & Stuff APK.”

What is an APK?
APK stands for Android Package Kit or Android application package.
It is the package format Android uses for applications.
For example, Minecraft on Android is itself installed as an Android application.
An APK can therefore contain an Android app, but that does not make every Minecraft resource pack an APK.
Actions & Stuff is not simply an Android app that replaces Minecraft.
What is an MCPACK?

A .mcpack is a package format used with Minecraft Bedrock content such as resource or behavior packs.
When the operating system and Minecraft recognize the file association, opening the .mcpack can hand it to Minecraft for import.
After import, the pack is managed from Minecraft’s own content/resource-pack interface.
That is why the site’s v1.10 historical download uses a .mcpack route rather than asking the player to install a second Android application.
Why do people search for “Actions & Stuff APK”?
APK-related searches are common in Android Minecraft communities.
But the search wording can mix together several different ideas:
- Minecraft’s Android application;
- a third-party Minecraft APK bundle;
- a resource pack intended to be used inside Minecraft;
- a .mcpack download.
Those should not be treated as interchangeable.

Which format should you use?

Can you rename MCPACK to APK?
No.
Renaming:
file.mcpack
to:
file.apk
does not convert a Minecraft resource pack into an Android application.
The internal structure and purpose are different.
Likewise, renaming an APK to .mcpack does not turn an Android application into a Bedrock resource pack.
Does iPhone use APK?
No.
APK is an Android application-package format.
iPhone and iPad do not install Android APK files.

What about Windows?
Minecraft for Windows is Bedrock Edition and can import appropriate .mcpack content.
